Charvak

Charvak is a truly heavenly place, a vast area adjacent to Charvak Lake (reservoir), located 80 km northeast of Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, in the mountains of the Southwestern Tien Shan.

Charvak is the most popular holiday destination for tourists, residents and guests of Tashkent. Numerous boarding houses, rest homes, hotels, and children's camps with their own beaches are located along the shores of the lake. There are also public beaches.

Charvak lake is surrounded on all sides by picturesque mountains, Ugamsky, Pskemsky and Chatkal ranges.

Charvak Lake was formed in 1972 during the construction of the grandiose stone-fill dam of the Charvak hydroelectric power station with a height of 168 m.

3 mountain rivers Chatkal, Pskem, and Koksu flow into Charvak Lake, and flowing through the turbines of the hydroelectric power station, they form the powerful Chirchik River. The volume of water in the lake (reservoir) is more than 2 million m3, and the area of the lake mirror is 40 km2./

The ski resorts of Chimgan and Beldersay are located 15 km from Charvak.

On Charvak Lake, tourists can not only relax in hotels and beaches, but also take walks (trips) through the picturesque surroundings.

The most interesting of them are:

- resorts of Chimgan, Beldersay;
- Golden Brichmulla and other picturesque mountain villages of Yangikurgan, Yakkatut, Bogistan, Nanai;
- canyons of the Kalasai and Paltau rivers;
- valleys of the Koksu and Aksarsai rivers;
- centuries-old plane trees, rock carvings, bizarre rocks with a waterfall in Khojikent.

There are also great opportunities for hiking, mountain, cycling and equestrian tourism, excellent opportunities for active team building and corporate events.
