The Catholic parish in Ferghana arose relatively late — in 1987, in the last years of the Soviet period, when believers gradually began to regain the opportunity to openly profess religion.

The founders of the parish were Catholics of German origin who lived in the Ferghana region. Many of them are descendants of Germans deported to Central Asia during World War II.

Having gathered in a small community, they obtained permission to establish a prayer house and register a parish community.

The first services were held in an ordinary apartment building, which was converted into a modest chapel. Over time, the building became a full-fledged parish church, and in the 1990s priests from Tashkent and Poland began to come here to conduct Masses and sacraments.
