The village of Chadak and the "Crying Rock"

There is an ancient village of Chadak in the vicinity of Namangan. It is located in the valley of the Chadaksai River. The village is more than four thousand years old. Despite such a venerable age, the village managed to preserve the original traditional look of the Central Asian village.

Chadak is famous for its gardens, walnut groves and springs. But the most important attraction of the village is the "Crying Rock". The place is picturesque and resembles an oasis in the middle of the desert. In ancient times, merchant caravans stopped here and military roads passed through. The place was an ideal stop to relax after a long journey and make a supply of crystal clear water.

Alexander the Great and his army passed through the village. Scientists suggest that he stayed here for a long time to recuperate. After the Macedonian, the place became popular and turned into one of the centers of the Kushan kingdom.

The "Crying Rock" is a small mountain formation with a snowfield at the top. Water flows down the rock and it looks like the rock is crying through moss and aquatic plants. According to legend, the rock is a girl in love who, by the will of fate, had to part with her lover. Unable to survive the separation, the girl turned into an "eternally crying rock." An interesting fact is that the flowing water does not freeze even in winter and is considered therapeutic. There is a small depression inside the rock. You can go there and make a wish, which is what lovers or singles do in the hope of meeting their love.
