St. Job's Orthodox Church

The interpenetration of peoples during the Soviet era had an incredibly huge scale. This circumstance probably caused the emergence of an Orthodox community on the territory of Urgench in the 50s of the last century, but it was not until 2008 that construction of an Orthodox church began in the city and ended only in 2014.

The temple complex is located on the right side of the railway station, almost next to it. The religious facility was built according to a unique project that fully corresponded to the traditions of church architecture of ancient Russia.

Two golden-domed domes of the shrine, arched entrances, a high plinth and stone steps make this small Orthodox church, consecrated in honor of St. Job, an interesting architectural object. And yes, by the way, this is the only Christian church in the whole of Urgench, which adds to its popularity.
