Jami Architectural Complex

One of the main attractions of Andijan is the Jami architectural complex, which includes a mosque, a madrasah and a minaret. The religious buildings were built at the turn of the 19th century.

The Jami Mosque is located in the western part of the complex, the construction of the building was completed in 1890. In plan, it is a rectangular hall surrounded by iwans on three sides. The main decoration of the mosque is an elegant carving on wooden columns. The main facade of the building has 26 large arched spans.

The Jami Minaret dominates the surrounding structures, the length of this grandiose building is 32 meters. In the middle of the trunk there is one masonry with a patterned geometric ornament, the very top of the minaret is decorated with a ring of glazed tiles in blue and blue.

The construction of the Jami Madrasah was started in 1883 and completed in 1890. The architectural design attracts tourists with its grandiose size, because its length is 123 meters. It is a symmetrical building with an east-facing facade. Graceful slender towers topped with lanterns are located at the corners of the high portal. Unfortunately, the northern and southern parts of the building have not been preserved to this day. Geometric designs depicted on wooden lattices give the madrasah a peculiar look. The dome of the building is decorated with a mosaic of blue-blue color. Jami Madrasah is the tallest not only in Andijan, but also in the entire Ferghana Valley.
