Urungach Jade Lake

An unforgettable day trip in the Pskov valley to the unique mountain lakes, called "jade" by tourists because of the color of the water. Urungach Jade Lakes are located 160 km from Tashkent, in Ugam-Chatkal National Park. Historically, Lake Superior was formed as a result of the collapse of rocks, resulting in the formation of a natural dam. And the lower lake is characterized by the perfect purity of the water, which passes through a natural underground sand and gravel filter. The color of the water in it is turquoise, and really resembles noble jade. Those who wish can swim in the cold but crystal-clear waters of the lakes. Depending on the season, the water temperature in the lakes varies from 3 °C (April-May) to 8 °C (July-August).

The active part of the route can be divided into two stages: a smooth ascent to the small, lower lake, and a steeper ascent to the upper lake. Lake Superior has a unique flavor, it is good to meditate here, contemplating the calm water surface surrounded by harsh rocky peaks crowned with snow caps.

For hiking enthusiasts and just physically healthy people, climbing both lakes will not be difficult. Such a walk is a great opportunity to add positivity, vivid emotions and unforgettable impressions to your life. The active part of the tour takes 3-4 hours. Together with the road 11-12 hours.
