Hunarmand International Folk and Applied Art Festival

Currently, there are more than four thousand workshops in the Ferghana Valley, specializing in 30 types of crafts. Among them, there are dynasties that have founded their own schools, participants in international fairs, and winners of state awards.

It is no coincidence that in 2014 the World Council of Crafts awarded Kokand the status of the "World City of Craftsmen". It should be noted that Kokand received this award first among the cities of the CIS countries. Thus, it became a sign of worldwide recognition.

For the first time, the Kokand International artisan festival "Hunarmand" was organized from September 10 to September 15, 2019. The event was attended by 1,116 craftsmen (191 from abroad). The participants demonstrated their skills and shared their experiences. In addition, the festival was accompanied by classical, folklore songs, and unique examples of world musical art. The participants and guests sang their favorite songs and danced. In Uzbekistan, it is planned to hold a festival of artisans every two years in September.

The Kokand International Artisan Festival "Hunarmand" is an event not only for Uzbek artisans, but also for the whole world. Moreover, its scale suggests that it will serve as an important bridge connecting the peoples of the world and their multifaceted culture.
